Kedarnath Yatra Resumes As Weather Improves

The Kedarnath Dham yatra has resumed after the weather conditions improved in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag on Tuesday morning. Pilgrims with prior registration of travel and hotel booking are being allowed to move to Rudraprayag while others are being stopped at Srinagar.

The entire district has been divided into five sectors in which sub-inspector rank officers have been deployed who will look after the traffic system. An alert for heavy snowfall and rain has been issued by the India Meteorological Department.

Earlier, Char Dham Yatris were being stopped at various places and Badrinath Yatris going towards Kedarnath Dham were being stopped at Srinagar Garhwal following instructions from the weather department.

Uttarakhand is called as a Dev Bhoomi ie land of Gods. It has a number of temples dating back to thousands of years. The most famous among them are the temples located in the four locations of Badarinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri & Yamunotri, which are collectively referred as Char Dham. Pilgrims from all over India and abroad visit the shrines as Char Dham Yatra. The Char Dham yatra hold great importance and sanctity in Hindu religion. It is said that every Hindu should undertake Char Dham Yatra at least once in a life time & get blessings of gods adorning the shrines.
