Karnataka Government Declares 30 March as Holiday for Mahaveer Jayanti, Offices will open on 31 March

The Karnataka Government has issued a new notification regarding the holiday for Mahaveer Jayanti in 2026. As per the order, the festival holiday has been shifted to 30 March 2026. Earlier, the holiday was declared on 31 March 2026.

The government said that this change has been made for administrative reasons and the updated date will now be followed across the state. The notification has been issued under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, which means banks, government offices, and other institutions will remain closed on the revised holiday date.

The order was issued by the Karnataka Government on 26 March 2026 and has been sent to all departments, officials, and authorities for implementation.
