Indian Overseas Bank Strike Deferred on 2nd March 2026
Indian Overseas Bank has deferred strike on 2nd March 2026. The General Secretary of the Indian Overseas Bank Officers’ Association served a notice of strike dated 09.02.2026, proposing to resort to an all-India strike on 02.03.2026 in support of the demands set forth in the Charter of Demands.
A conciliation meeting was scheduled on 25.02.2026 at 11:30 A.M. Subsequently, at the request of the Association, the timing of the meeting was rescheduled to 2:30 P.M. on the same day.
The association said that the working culture in Banks has severely impacted work–life balance of the officers. They said that management is placing Day end checks and officers are being called on holidays. When association raised voice, then the management locked the office of the association. Association termed this incident as a major attack on it.
- It was mutually agreed that the office of the Officers’ Association shall be permitted to function during the entire working day from tomorrow i.e. 26.02.2026. Further, Association agreed to adhere to the “do’s and don’ts” as may be mutually settled in the bipartite meeting between the parties.
- It was further mutually agreed that no in-absentia transfers of officers issued/served after giving of Strike notice dated 09.02.2026 shall be effected by the Management until the proposed bipartite meeting is convened and held on or before 10.03.2026.
- It was also agreed that, wherever explanations have been sought by the Management from individual officers, the concerned officers shall submit their replies within the stipulated time, and the Management shall duly consider such replies appropriately and in accordance with the principles of natural justice.
Association said that the strike has been deferred due to positive developments.
