Case Update
The victim has been identified as a private employee who is working with Indian Bank. The police have identified the accused as S. Sathish, aged 35. According to reports, Sathish entered the bank premises and attacked G. Dinesh, 33, leaving him with a cut injury on his ear. The police suspect Sathish may be mentally unstable, and they believe previous enmity could have motivated the attack.
Investigations revealed that Sathish and Dinesh had previously worked together at a private bank in Nandanam. On Thursday, around 12:30 pm, Sathish arrived at the bank and assaulted Dinesh with a sickle, causing injuries to his ear and back.
Other bank employees managed to restrain Sathish and handed him over to the police. Meanwhile, Dinesh was rushed to a hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. It was further discovered that Sathish had been terminated from his job at the Nandanam bank due to health issues. However, he held Dinesh responsible for his dismissal, which fueled animosity between them.
The police reported that Sathish had been tracking Dinesh for months and traveled from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai on Wednesday night with the intent to attack him. The authorities confirmed that further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
