IAS officer Rinkoo Singh Rahee who was seen doing sit-ups holding his ears during a protest by lawyers in Shahjahanpur district, has been transferred to the Board of Revenue in Lucknow.

An IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district, Rinku Singh Rahi, has become the highlight of today’s news after he was seen doing sit-ups in front of protesting lawyers. The lawyers said that the government offices lack cleanliness and thus, the officer should do sit-ups.

While checking the compound premises, Rahi spotted litter around the compound and witnessed individuals urinating in the open. In response, he asked the offenders to perform sit-ups.

He said that he had earlier instructed people to use toilets, but some refused and continued urinating in the open, thus he asked them do sit-ups.

He also found some school children roaming around the premises without purpose and asked their parents to do sit-ups.

However, this action triggered backlash from a group of advocates present at the tehsil. One of them, lawyer Virendra Kumar Yadav, said, “Today, SDM was inspecting the premises when our clerk was found urinating. He stopped him and made him do sit-ups. We questioned him on why he made our man do that.”
