The cases of Digital Arrest are increasing day by day. People are losing lacs of money in these scams. But now, a shocking case of Digital Arrest has come to light. In a shocking incident, a young woman from northern India, currently working at an IT company in Hyderabad, was forced to strip during a video call as part of a digital arrest scam. The crime was uncovered during the investigation of another cybercrime case.

The ordeal began several months ago when the woman received a phone call from fraudsters posing as police officers. They claimed that she had been placed under “digital arrest” and threatened her with serious consequences. To further intimidate her, one of the scammers made a video call and shared personal details, including information about her family and screenshots of her online payment history, via WhatsApp. The fraudster also sent a copy of an FIR (First Information Report) to increase her fear.

The scammer, using these tactics, demanded that she strip on the video call. Terrified and feeling trapped, the woman reluctantly complied. Despite fulfilling the demand, the harassment did not stop. The fraudster continued to call and threaten her. Eventually, the woman decided to stop responding to the scammer’s calls. The case came to light when police arrested suspects involved in a similar digital arrest scam.

Digital arrest fraud is a growing cybercrime where scammers impersonate law enforcement or government officials to scare victims into transferring money or providing sensitive information. These fraudsters exploit the fear of legal trouble, often convincing their targets that they are under investigation for crimes that don’t exist.

The woman from Hyderabad is one of many victims of this scam, which has affected people from various backgrounds, including IT professionals, lawyers, and working women. Authorities have urged the public to report any such calls to the cybercrime cell immediately, instead of succumbing to fear or intimidation.
