Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to death by a tribunal on Monday, 17 November 2025. The same tribunal later ordered that all her assets be seized. But do you know – how much assets she owns? What is her net worth?
According to her affidavit submitted to the Bangladesh Election Commission, and reported by the Bangladesh-based daily Business Standard, Sheikh Hasina had declared assets worth about Tk 4.36 crore (₹3.16 crore) before the 12th National Parliament Election.
Cash and Bank Deposits: She had Tk 28,500 in cash (₹20,646.76) and about Tk 2.39 crore (₹1.73 crore) in bank accounts.
Savings: She had Tk 25 lakh (₹18.11 lakh) in savings certificates and Tk 55 lakh (₹39.84 lakh) in fixed deposits.
Vehicles: She owned three vehicles. Two were valued at Tk 47.5 lakh (₹34.41 lakh). The third was a gift, so no value was listed.
Other Valuables: She had gold and other valuables worth Tk 13.25 lakh (₹9.60 lakh), and furniture valued at Tk 7.4 lakh (₹5.36 lakh).
Land: She owned 15.3 bigha of agricultural land in different locations, valued at Tk 6.78 lakh (₹4.91 lakh). She also owned a plot in Purbachal valued at Tk 34.76 lakh (₹25.18 lakh).
Building: She had a three-storey building and land in Tungipara, valued at Tk 5 lakh (₹3.62 lakh) at the time of purchase.
