The Haryana Right to Service (RTS) Commission has imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch manager for allegedly failing to disburse a loan within the stipulated time frame. The Commission, chaired by chief commissioner TC Gupta, took suo motu cognizance of the matter.

Fine Deduction and Treasury Deposit

The Commission has further directed that the challan receipt of the deducted amount be submitted within 30 days.

Addressing Delayed Loan Disbursement

During a meeting of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) and Deputy General Managers (DGMs) from several banks, it was brought to the attention of the Haryana RTS Commission that there were numerous instances of loans not being disbursed on time. In some cases, loans were sanctioned but not disbursed even after purchase.

In response to these findings, the Commission decided to investigate 100 cases characterized by significant delays in loan disbursement and take appropriate action. This decision aims to serve as a deterrent to bank officials who exhibit negligence in their duties.

Overall, the Haryana RTS Commission is taking proactive measures to ensure the timely disbursement of loans and hold accountable those responsible for any delays.

  1. Will these commissions also be strict with courts for justice delayed by decades ? Everyone belives in suppressing the helpless. I am sure branch manager was not given a chance to present his side of the case.

    1. Very unfortunate event in most of cases state govt departments are not providing application even after repeated reminders

  2. Although I appreciate such decisions related to common man but why don’t RTS commissioner take suomotto action against State Govt Undertaking like MCg Gurgaon where lot of complaints pending from common man and Gurgaon has become a garbage dump

  3. Only PSBs and their employees are responsible for all the delay in sanction and disbursements of loans.
When it comes to recovery of state sponsored schemes No government come forward for recovery even where there are laws under state recovery acts.
We the bankers are soft targets at SLBC meetings.
Why the govt employees are not questioned for delay in various documents and in many cases without bribes Government departments don’t work.
Matter to be taken up with SBLCs and bankers should be more vocal and Lead Bank convener should be bold enough to put the bankers views also.
