Guard beaten by customer at Bank of Baroda branch in Patna

On Saturday in Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, a dispute between a customer named Pramod Kumar and a security guard at Bank of Baroda escalated into a chaotic situation when the guard opened fire from his service gun. As a result of the firing, a woman was injured by shrapnel and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, her condition is now stable and out of danger.

Different Perspectives on the Incident

Pramod Kumar, the customer involved in the incident, claims that he has a current account at the bank. He had visited the bank on Saturday to deposit money when he encountered improper behavior from the guard. When he tried to address the issue with the guard, the situation escalated and the guard fired his gun in anger.

However, the police have a different theory regarding the incident. Rural SP Masood Azhar stated that the guard had a dispute with another individual regarding a money deposit. During the altercation, several individuals entered the bank and assaulted the guard, resulting in severe injuries. The guard has also been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Based on the guard’s statement, the police have registered a case and are currently conducting an investigation.

Official Response

The branch manager of the bank, Manish Kumar, has stated that the matter is being investigated by the police. He mentioned that any updates or directions received from senior officials will be shared with the media. When attempting to contact the in-charge of the Bakhtiyarpur police station for further information on the incident, they were unavailable to take the call at that time.
