GST Revenue Collection Data March 2025: The GST Department has released the GST collection data for the month of March 2025. India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections increased 9.9% year-on-year to ₹1.96 lakh crore in March 2025, reflecting higher economic activity and improved compliance. In February 2025, GST revenue collection was ₹1.83 lakh crore (9.1% YoY increase) and in January 2025, GST revenue collection was ₹1.96 lakh crore (12.5% YoY increase).

The gross GST revenue for March comprised:

  • Central GST (CGST): ₹38,100 crore
  • State GST (SGST): ₹49,900 crore
  • Integrated GST (IGST): ₹95,900 crore
  • Compensation Cess: ₹12,300 crore

In comparison, February’s collections stood at ₹35,204 crore (CGST), ₹43,704 crore (SGST), ₹90,870 crore (IGST), and ₹13,868 crore (compensation cess).

Top GST-Contributing States

Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh remained the top five contributors in March:

  • Maharashtra: ₹31,534 crore (14% YoY increase)
  • Karnataka: ₹13,497 crore (4% YoY increase)
  • Gujarat: ₹12,095 crore (6% YoY increase)
  • Tamil Nadu: ₹11,017 crore (7% YoY increase)
  • Uttar Pradesh: ₹9,956 crore (10% YoY increase)

Delhi ranked sixth, contributing ₹6,139 crore (5% YoY increase). At the lower end, Bihar recorded the lowest GST payment at just ₹2.6 crore, followed by Lakshadweep (₹3 crore) and Andhra Pradesh (₹4.03 crore). Notably, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands saw an impressive 60% rise in GST collections, reaching ₹51 crore. Click here to read more Data related to Indian Economy.
