Funding and New Initiatives

The Union Budget for 2024-25 allocates ₹1.48 lakh crore for education, employment, and skilling across the country. Sitharaman introduced a new centrally sponsored scheme aimed at skill development, targeting the training of 20 lakh youth over the next five years.

Revised Skill Loan Scheme

The model skill loan scheme will be revised to facilitate loans up to ₹7.5 lakh, backed by a government-promoted fund. This revision is anticipated to benefit 25,000 students each year.
