A case of jewellery missing from SBI Bank Locker has come to light. A 54 year old woman named Bindu C.D. has filed a police complaint that 145 grams of Gold and Diamond Jewellery is missing from her SBI Bank Locker in Dollars Colony Branch in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru.
She said that she had been using the locker facility at this SBI branch since December 2022, and she had kept valuable gold and diamond jewellery inside it. She last checked her locker in November 2024, and everything was safe at that time. However, when she visited the locker again on March 28, 2025, she discovered that all her valuables were missing.
Shocked, she immediately complained to the bank. But the bank staff told her that no one could have accessed her locker, and claimed they had no idea about what happened to her valuables. Bindu kept following up and even reached out to SBI customer care and the Chief Vigilance Officer, but she got no proper response. She said that bank officials suggested that she check her home for the missing items and kept giving unclear answers.
Feeling helpless, Bindu finally approached the Sadashivanagar Police. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case on Friday, charging the bank officials under Section 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). This section deals with theft from homes, places of worship, or transportation.
The police have now started a detailed investigation into the matter. More details will be released soon.
