Jaipur: Chomu police have arrested Shiva Khandal, a former assistant manager of the local branch of IDFC Bank, on charges of embezzling ₹55 lakh. Khandal is a resident of Rampura Dabdi and allegedly misused his position to carry out the fraud.

He created 10 fake bank accounts and used them to divert funds. Transactions were carried out from different locations to make the fraud appear genuine. So far, 33 victims have filed complaints across various police stations.

Khandal had been carrying out the fraud in a systematic and planned manner for quite some time. Police are now trying to find whether more people are involved in the scheme.

A special police team has been formed to probe the case further. The accused will soon be produced in court, where the police are expected to seek remand to trace the flow of embezzled funds.
