All the bankers in India are eagerly waiting for the implementation of 5 day work week in Banks. So, here is the update on Five Day Week Banking in India.
Why Five Day Work Week in Banks is important?
The concept of a five-day week banking system in India refers to the potential shift from the current six-day working schedule to a shorter workweek for banks. This proposed change aims to provide employees in the banking sector with a better work-life balance and improve their overall well-being.
RTI Question: What is the update on Five Day Banking and by when can it be implemented?

Under RTI Act, CPIO is required to provide information as exists in the record and does not suppose to create/ collect/ interpret information, or to give non-existing opinion/ advice on the queries raised by the applicants. Through this reply, it’s clear that the proposal of 5 day banking is lying with the Government of India but the government is not willing to tell the dates of implementation. As per bank unions, the 12th BPS will only be signed when the government declares 5 days banking.
