Bundi, Rajasthan: A fire broke out at the Central Bank branch in Bara Nayagaon, located in Hindoli area of Bundi, on Wednesday night due to a short circuit. The incident occurred at around 2:47 a.m., destroying important bank documents and computer systems. However, the fire did not reach the lockers, ensuring that account holders’ jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees remained safe.
The fire was detected through the bank’s fire security system alarm. A police patrol team present nearby alerted senior officials. The Police immediately rushed to the spot.
After several hours of effort, firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by breaking open the bank’s shutter. Branch Manager Suresh Verma stated that several important files and documents of the bank were destroyed in the fire.
