
The Finance Ministry is currently accepting applications for the positions of Senior Private Secretary and Private Secretary. The deadline for submitting applications is June 15.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants up to 64 years old are eligible to apply for these positions. The Finance Ministry is particularly interested in receiving applications from retired Central Government Employees who are looking for contractual positions as Consultants. The positions available are for the roles of Senior Private Secretary and Private Secretary. The initial contract will be for one year or until the positions are permanently filled.
Qualifications for Senior Private Secretary
To be eligible for the Senior Private Secretary position, applicants must have retired from the post of Sr. Private Secretary or higher from the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service or an equivalent position. Additionally, candidates should have English Stenography speed of 100 w.p.m. (with 7 minutes dictation transcribed in 50 minutes). Experience in courts, tribunals, or adjudicating authorities is preferred.
Qualifications for Private Secretary
For the Private Secretary position, applicants must have retired from the post of Private Secretary or higher from the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service or an equivalent position. Similar to the Senior Private Secretary position, candidates should have English Stenography speed of 100 w.p.m. (with 7 minutes dictation transcribed in 50 minutes).
Compensation and Benefits
The monthly remuneration for these positions will be fixed according to the Department of Expenditure (DoE) guidelines, and it will remain unchanged during the contract period. However, please note that House Rent Allowance (HRA) will not be provided.Consultants will receive a monthly Transport Allowance of Rs 3,000 or the rate applicable at retirement, whichever is lower. In addition, consultants will be entitled to TA/DA for official tours as per their retirement entitlement.Consultants will be eligible for 1.5 days of paid leave for each completed month of service. However, any unused leave will not be carried over into the next calendar year.It’s important to note that consultants will continue to receive their pension and dearness relief during the contract period. This will not be considered re-employment.
Other Terms and Conditions
Applicable Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) will be deducted from the monthly remuneration. If needed, a TDS certificate can be provided upon request.The Appellate Tribunal reserves the right to terminate the engagement with 15 days’ notice without providing a reason. Similarly, if a consultant wishes to resign, they must provide 15 days’ notice or remuneration in lieu. Termination may occur if a consultant is unable to perform assigned tasks or if the quality of their work is found to be unsatisfactory.
