Finance Ministry held Review Meeting of MD&CEO of PSU Banks, Read Meeting Highlights

The Finance Ministry on Wednesday held a detailed three-hour review meeting with the heads of public sector banks (PSBs) to evaluate their financial performance in the first quarter of FY 2025-26.

The meeting, chaired by Financial Services Secretary M. Nagaraju, focused on assessing banks’ profitability and encouraging them to increase lending towards the productive sectors of the economy.

The ministry asked PSBs to focus more on lending to productive and growth-oriented sectors, ensuring that strong profits translate into greater support for the broader economy.
