Female Bank Manager shot dead by her Husband in Bengaluru
A software engineer in Bengaluru shot and killed his wife on a public road on Tuesday evening and later surrendered at a police station. The woman was working in the Union Bank of India. Police said the accused suspected his wife of having an affair, and the couple had been arguing over the issue for a long time.
The victim was identified as Bhuvaneshwari – 39 years old and she was working as an assistant manager at Union Bank of India’s Basaveshwaranagar branch. The accused, Balamurugan, worked at a private IT company. Both were natives of Salem district in Tamil Nadu.

The couple had been living separately for the past 18 months. During this period, Balamurugan quit his job and began closely monitoring his wife’s movements. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
According to police, the incident took place around 6:30 pm on Tuesday on the main road in the Rajajinagar Industrial Area. Initial investigations revealed that Balamurugan fired four shots at close range. Two bullets hit Bhuvaneshwari in the head, while the other two struck her left arm. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Balamurugan and Bhuvaneshwari were married in 2011. They moved to Bengaluru in 2018 after Balamurugan joined a private software firm. Police said the marriage was stable in the early years, but frequent fights began about one and a half years ago after the husband started suspecting her of an affair.
Bhuvaneshwari later asked for a divorce, but Balamurugan did not agree. About six months ago, she was transferred from Union Bank’s Whitefield branch and moved into a rented house with her children without informing her husband.
Around four months ago, after finding her new address, Balamurugan quit his IT job and moved to Cholurpalya in Kempapura Agrahara to stay close to her.
Police said tensions increased further a week ago when Balamurugan received a divorce notice from his wife. On Tuesday evening, when Bhuvaneshwari was returning home from work, he spotted her near the Basaveshwaranagar police station and shot her on the street.
After the incident, Balamurugan went to a nearby police station and surrendered along with the pistol.
More details will be released soon.
