A shocking case has come to light in Mumbai where a woman working at a private bank has been accused of blackmailing her ex-boyfriend and demanding a ransom of ₹1 crore. She allegedly threatened to ruin his life and send him to jail if he didn’t pay the money. The man went through a lot of mental stress for a long time, but eventually gathered courage and approached the police. After investigation, the police arrested the woman.

The Police has arrested a woman named Dolly Kotak, who was working in a private bank. She is accused of demanding ₹1 crore from her ex-boyfriend, who is an IT professional.

Dolly took help from three of her bank colleagues – Harsh Srivastava, Anant Ruia, and Jayesh Gaikwad. With their help, she illegally accessed the victim’s personal and digital information. This included his email account, bank details, location data, personal photographs, etc.

In May 2024, the victim received a threatening message from Dolly’s phone number saying, “Pay the money or be ready to rot in jail, you will never win.” After that, Dolly even sent objectionable emails to the victim’s company HR, which led to him losing his job.

Initially, when the victim complained to the police, no action was taken. Left with no choice, he approached the Borivali Magistrate Court. Following the court’s direction, Charkop Police registered a formal case under Section 175(3) of BNSS. The FIR includes not just Dolly, but also her brother Sagar Kotak, her friend Pramila Vaz, and the three bank employees who helped her. All of them have been booked under various sections of the IPC, IT Act, and BNSS.

The police is investigating the case and more details will be released soon.
