Farmers need not pay Loans for one Year! Maharashtra Govt announces Relief for Farmers

There is a big relief for Farmers in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra government has announced relief measures for farmers who suffered losses due to heavy rains in 34 districts of the State. The Government has ordered rationalisation of cooperative loans and suspension of loan recovery for one year.

According to the order, 347 tehsils across the State experienced large-scale damage to crops, farmland, houses, deaths, and loss of cattle and other animals. Thus, the Government has ordered relief for farmers. The relief measures include:

The State agriculture department’s assessment revealed that crops on 65 lakh hectares were damaged due to rains between June and September. Heavy rainfall and floods in September particularly affected Marathwada and surrounding regions.
