In a shocking case from Nimbahera, Chittorgarh district, a Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP) engineer was brutally killed by his own wife and her lover, who works as a bank cashier. The engineer had unknowingly become a barrier in their secret relationship, and they decided to murder him to be together.
How the Crime Happened
The wife, Sonia, tricked her husband Motilal by asking him to go for a walk in a nearby farm. Motilal, who was 32 years old, agreed to go with her. Meanwhile, her lover, Veer Singh Meena, a bank cashier from a nearby village, was hiding in the fields waiting for the right moment. As soon as Motilal arrived, Sonia and Veer Singh attacked him. Sonia hit Motilal on the head with an iron rod (pestle), causing fatal injuries. After killing him, they threw Motilal’s body into a nearby well to hide the crime.
To cover their tracks, Sonia and Veer Singh also threw Motilal’s mobile phone and slippers into the well. Later, they pretended that Motilal had gone missing, acting as if he was not answering calls.
How the Police Caught the Culprits
Motilal’s family became worried when he did not answer their calls. His father, Ladu Lal Balai, who lives in Dantda Dam, Asind in Bhilwara district, said that his daughter-in-law Sonia called him on the evening of May 14 to say that Motilal was not answering his phone. Ladu Lal, along with his son Mishrilal and other relatives, rushed to Nimbahera to search for Motilal, but they found no clue.
They filed a missing person report with the local police that night. The next morning, around 5:30 am on May 15, while searching near the well, family members spotted blood stains. When they looked into the well, they saw Motilal’s dead body.
The police were informed immediately and arrived at the scene. They recovered Motilal’s body with the help of a crane. The body showed a deep wound on the back of the head, injuries on the back, and cut marks on the elbow, clearly indicating foul play.
Investigation and Arrest
Motilal’s father filed a murder case with the police on May 15. The police began investigating, checking Motilal’s mobile phone and call records for any leads. Using this information, they detained Veer Singh Meena, the bank cashier who lived nearby.
During police questioning, Veer Singh confessed that he was having a secret affair with Sonia. He admitted that Motilal was stopping them from meeting, which is why they planned to kill him. According to his statement, on the night of May 14 around 8 pm, Sonia took Motilal to a deserted field near New Housing Board Colony, where Veer Singh was already waiting. Sonia then hit Motilal with the iron rod, killing him.
The police have arrested Veer Singh Meena, but Sonia is still missing. A special police team is actively searching for her.
Police Statement
SP Sudhir Joshi confirmed the details of the case. He mentioned that the family had been living in Nimbahera in a rented house for over two years. The police are working hard to bring the accused wife to justice soon.
