Design a Digital Clock and win Rs.5 Lakh Prize, New Competition by Indian Railways

Indian Railways has launched an exciting nationwide competition to design new digital clocks that will be installed at railway stations throughout the country. This competition invites creative individuals from all over India to participate, with the aim of standardizing the digital clocks used at various railway platforms and stations.

The competition is open to three categories: professionals, college and university students, and school students. This initiative encourages talent from all age groups and backgrounds to contribute to the design of these clocks.

Prizes and Awards

The winner of the competition, whose design is chosen to be implemented at Indian Railways stations, will receive a grand prize of ₹5 lakh. In addition, each of the three categories will have five consolation prizes worth ₹50,000 each.

Important Dates and Submission Details

Participants interested in entering the competition must submit their designs online between May 1 and May 31. The submissions should be sent via email to contest.pr@rb.railnet.gov.in.

Guidelines for Submission

Dilip Kumar, Executive Director (Information & Publicity) at the Railway Board, emphasized a few important guidelines for the competition:

  • Entries must be submitted in high resolution without any watermark or logo.
  • A certificate of originality must accompany each submission.
  • Participants can submit multiple designs, but each design must be paired with a brief concept note explaining the theme and the idea behind the design.
  • All entries must be original and must not infringe on any copyrights or intellectual property rights.

Eligibility Criteria

  • School category: Students up to class 12 are eligible. They must upload a valid school ID card.
  • College category: Students currently enrolled in any recognized university or college can participate.
  • Professional category: This category is open to individuals who do not fall into the other two categories.
