The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has arrested Vinay Negi, the manager of a private finance company, for fraud involving Rs 5 crore. Vinay Negi lives in Sector-3, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad. The case began when the finance company reported a fraud of Rs 3.23 crore, but during police investigation, the total fraud amount was found to be Rs 5 crore.
According to police, Vinay Negi and his partner Amit Bhandari transferred the loan money to their own bank accounts instead of giving it to the loan applicants. Amit Bhandari is currently missing, and police teams are actively searching for him.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Verma from the Economic Offenses Wing said that last year, the finance company filed a complaint against Vinay Negi, who was responsible for giving loan amounts to customers. However, instead of sending the money to the customers, Vinay and Amit diverted the funds to their personal bank accounts.
During the investigation, police found that the fraud money was transferred to accounts in SBI, Kotak Bank, and also to a separate account owned by Amit Bhandari. On May 8, the police raided Vinay Negi’s house in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, and arrested him.
During questioning, Vinay revealed Amit Bhandari’s name and location, also in Vasundhara. Police searched Amit’s house but could not find him. The search for Amit is ongoing.
The police also learned that Vinay Negi is a college graduate who likes to invest money in the stock market. Authorities are questioning Vinay to help recover the stolen money.
