Central Bank Officer committed suicide as Girlfriend’s Parents denied Marriage

Muzaffarpur: A Central Bank officer, Vishu Priyadarshi, reportedly committed suicide after being unable to marry his girlfriend due to her family’s refusal. The incident occurred on January 14 in Shriram Nagar, located in Bhagwanpur under the Sadar police station area. Vishu, who was working as a manager at the regional office of the Central Bank in Bhagwanpur, had been in a romantic relationship with the girl for the past five years.

According to Vishu’s brother, Pranav Kumar, a letter was found in Vishu’s pocket after his death. In the letter, Vishu explained that he had fallen in love with the girl during his posting as a manager in Barsoi, Katihar, in 2020. Initially, the girl’s family had agreed to the marriage. However, the girl’s father, a retired teacher respected in the community, later refused the inter-caste marriage. Additionally, the girlfriend’s brother-in-law also opposed the idea of an inter-caste wedding.

Pranav Kumar has now filed a complaint at the Sadar police station. Following this, the police have registered an FIR and have started investigating the matter, as confirmed by Sadar SHO Asmit Kumar.
