In the Sushant Golf area of Lucknow, two fraudsters tricked a customer into losing Rs 13,000 inside a bank. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, showing the two suspects surrounding the victim and stealing the money while distracting him. The police are using the CCTV footage to track down the fraudsters.
Dharmendra Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Ahamau Arjunganj, went to the State Bank of India Arjunganj branch to withdraw money. His older brother, Satish Tiwari, had given him a cheque for Rs 1,40,000. After withdrawing the money, Dharmendra handed over his passbook to be updated, then sat down on a nearby bench to wait. At that point, one man approached and sat next to him.
The man casually started a conversation and then asked Dharmendra to count the money. As Dharmendra counted, the man pointed out that there was a stamp on one of the notes. He used this as an excuse to take the money from Dharmendra’s hands. During this distraction, another man, who was sitting nearby wearing a cap, asked Dharmendra for a pen. After a brief exchange, the first man returned the money to Dharmendra.
However, when Dharmendra checked the money later, he found that Rs 13,000 was missing. He immediately filed a complaint with the police, who are now investigating the case based on the CCTV footage. The police are trying to identify the fraudsters involved in the theft.
