On Wednesday, a distressing incident occurred near the local bus stand in Raipur Rani, where a woman named Farmini, a resident of Rehna village, became the victim of a bag-snatching.

What Happened?

Farmini had traveled to the Raipur Rani market area with her two-year-old son and a neighbor. Her plan was to purchase medicines and withdraw money from her State Bank of India (SBI) account. After successfully withdrawing ₹8,000, she was walking towards a hospital when a young man on a motorcycle approached her from behind. The man, who was not wearing a helmet, snatched her bag containing the cash and important documents, then quickly fled the scene on his two-wheeler.

Police Response

Farmini promptly reported the incident to the Raipur Rani police. In response, the police registered a case under Section 304 (snatching) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
