Case filed against Kota Mahindra Bank Staff for assaulting staff of Agra DCDRC

A serious incident of assault has come to light involving employees of Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Sanjay Place branch in Agra. They have been accused of assaulting, abusing, and even robbing staff members of the Agra District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

The case began when Pramod Kumar Agarwal, a peon at the Commission, filed an application before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM). He explained that on 30 March 2025, he, along with steno Subhash Singh and Mahesh Chand, went to the Kotak Mahindra Bank branch to deposit bills and amounts related to the financial year-end audit.

According to the complaint, when they asked for a receipt after submitting the documents, the bank staff refused. When Pramod said he would complain to the higher authorities and the State Commission, the staff allegedly got angry, abused them, and even tore up the government bills and forms.

The situation escalated, and it is alleged that several bank employees attacked Pramod. He was hit with helmets on his head and face, leaving him with serious injuries, including a fractured head, broken nose bone, and multiple stitches. His mobile phone was damaged during the assault, and even his gold chain was snatched.

The entire incident was captured on the bank’s CCTV cameras. Despite this, Pramod claimed that when he approached the police, no FIR was registered, nor was any medical test conducted initially. He later got a medical examination done privately, which confirmed his injuries.

The CJM has now taken note of the complaint, registered a case, and directed the Hariparvat Police Station in-charge to investigate the matter.
