Bumper Vacancy! SBI to release 18000 Vacancies this year for PO, Clerk, SO, CBO, LBO Posts

There is a big news for candidates preparing for Banking Examinations. The State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman has said that SBI will recruit 18000 candidates this year. SBI will release 18000 vacancies this year for various posts such as PO, SO, CBI, Clerk, etc. This will be the largest recruitment drive of SBI in last 10 years. Out of these 18,000 jobs:
- 13,500 to 14,000 people will be hired for clerical posts (junior associates).
- 3,000 people will be hired as Probationary Officers (POs) and Local-based Officers
- 1,600 people will be hired as System Officers, who will work in SBI’s technology and IT departments.

This big hiring plan was informed by Mr. CS Setty, the Chairman of SBI, during a media event held after announcing the bank’s results for the financial year 2024-25 (FY25). Mr. Setty also said that this is the first time in nearly 10 years that SBI is hiring so many technology officers. He explained that SBI wants to improve its banking services using new technologies, and these tech experts will help achieve that goal.
He also added that SBI is serious about becoming a tech-driven bank. The bank is investing heavily in digital systems, and there is no shortage of funds when it comes to improving its technology. However, SBI does not publicly share the exact amount it spends on technology. Net Profit of SBI for FY25 stands at ₹70,901 crores witnessing a growth of 16.08% YoY. Net Profit of SBI for Q4FY25 stands at ₹18,643 crores.
