Bijnor Robbery: PNB Bank Employee Held Hostage and Forced to Pay via Google Pay

In a unique case of robbery in Bijnor, miscreants held a bank employee hostage while he was on his way to work, demanding money from him. When they found his pockets empty, they forced him to transfer ₹45,000 via Google Pay. The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter.

Incident Details:

Vijay Singh, a resident of Ravidas Colony in the city, works as a Daftari at the Chitavar branch of Punjab National Bank. According to his complaint, he was stopped by people in a car on the highway near Swahedi while going to work. One of the assailants took his scooty while the others forced him into the car. They threatened to kill him and accused him of having fun with girls, warning that they would make a video of him viral.

Initially, the miscreants demanded that Vijay ask his wife for ₹5 lakh and some jewelry. When he expressed his inability to do so, they provided him with a Google Pay QR code and coerced him into transferring ₹45,000. After obtaining the money, the miscreants fled.

Police Action:

The police have registered a case based on Vijay Singh’s complaint. CO City Sangram Singh stated that Vijay Kumar was detained by 5 to 6 individuals in a car while he was on his way to Kiratpur for duty at 10:00 am. The assailants claimed to know about his relations with several women and threatened to inform his wife and others if he did not comply with their demands. They also threatened to kill him if he refused.

Under duress, Vijay Kumar transferred ₹45,000 using Google Pay to the barcode provided by the assailants. A case has been filed on Vijay Kumar’s complaint, and the police have identified the suspects. A special team has been formed to apprehend the culprits.
