
The staff of South Bihar Gramin Bank, organized under the Joint Forum of South Bihar Gramin Bank Unions, went on strike on Friday. The strike was held to protest against the management’s anti-staff and anti-bank policies, with the staff presenting 17-point demands.
This strike received support from approximately four thousand bank employees across 1078 branches, resulting in the closure of all bank branches during this period. In a display of solidarity, hundreds of bank employees, including coordinator Nadeem Akhtar, General Secretary Brahmeshwar Kumar, President Pradeep Kumar, General Secretary Chittaranjan Kumar DBGBOO, General Secretary Ranveer Anand DBGBOA, General Secretary Rahul Kumar Vats AIGBOO, and Workers Union representatives Anant Akash and Ranjit Kumar Singh, protested in front of the bank’s head office.
They expressed their frustration with the management’s autocratic and negligent behavior, stating that the entire bank staff has been protesting against their policies and stubborn attitude for quite some time. However, the management has consistently ignored the employees’ demands. The striking workers emphasized that if their demands are not addressed, they will proceed with another strike on March 25.
