Big Controversy erupts in We Bankers Union Elections, Case filed in Court

Kanpur, September 15: A big controversy has erupted within the We Bankers Union, leading to legal action in Kanpur. Fresh election results were recently announced, but strong objections have been raised from the current office-bearers.

The existing National General Secretary of All India We Bankers Association has alleged that the union elections were conducted fraudulently, bypassing the constitutional provisions of the union. A case has been filed in the Kanpur court against those involved in the election process.

According to the General Secretary, the union’s constitution clearly states that only the current executive committee holds the authority to frame rules and oversee the conduct of elections. However, the executive committee had not granted any such approval to the individuals who declared the results of the 2025 national elections.

Challenging the validity of the polls, the General Secretary argued that the elections were unconstitutional and unauthorized. As a result, a legal case has been filed in court.

Recently, We Bankers Association had held its elections online. After receiving the official results, Election Officer Shri Vinay Kumar Khanna declared the names of the winning candidates.

This court case and controversy have shaken the trust of bankers in the association. The newly elected leaders claim that all procedures were properly followed, while others are raising objections. Now, it remains to be seen what decision the court will take.
