Bank officer Ankit Goyal, an assistant manager at Bank of Baroda’s Station Road branch in Bareilly, recently found himself in a controversial situation. It all started when footage of Ankit writing offensive comments about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Metro went viral, attracting the attention of the Delhi Police.
Following the filing of a report against him, Ankit was arrested by the Delhi Police in Bareilly. However, he was granted bail on the same day. Although he had secured his freedom, the bank management took swift action and suspended him from his position.
This suspension left Ankit feeling outraged and disgruntled. In a shocking turn of events, he decided to take matters into his own hands. On Wednesday morning, Ankit arrived at the Bank of Baroda’s General Manager’s office, located near the prominent post office in Bareilly.
Despite encountering resistance from security guards and other staff members, Ankit forcefully made his way into the GM’s chamber. Once inside, he proceeded to set the office on fire, causing panic and chaos.
Fortunately, the fire department was promptly notified and dispatched firefighters to the scene. They managed to extinguish the flames before the situation could escalate further. The bank, recognizing the severity of the incident, handed over the CCTV footage capturing the entire episode to the police.
In response, the Kotwali police station registered a report and initiated an investigation. The bank’s Deputy General Manager also filed a named report, ensuring that the incident was documented thoroughly.
As the investigation unfolds, the authorities will be working diligently to determine the motives behind Ankit’s actions and to bring about a resolution to this troubling situation.
