Auraiya: A young woman from a village in the Kotwali area has accused the manager of the Baroda UP Bank branch in Malhousi of raping her over a period of two years under the pretense of marriage.

The victim has appealed to the Inspector General of Police, citing a lack of hearings from the Kotwali police station and the Superintendent of Police’s office. Following these appeals, a case has been registered against the bank manager and three others.

According to the FIR filed by the victim, she visited the Baroda UP Bank in 2021 to open an account. There, the bank manager, Manoj Kumar Meena, obtained her phone number from the documents. He then began contacting her. In December 2022, Manoj invited her to his residence in Jawahar Nagar Lekhpal Colony, Bidhuna, under the pretext of a meal at a hotel. During the meal, he drugged her, rendered her unconscious, and raped her. When she regained consciousness and questioned him, he reassured her with false promises of marriage and silenced her.

During her unconscious state, Manoj had also taken explicit photos and videos of her, which he used to continue the abuse. After two years of this ongoing rape, the victim asked Manoj to marry her on May 6, 2024. In response, he abused her verbally, and three other individuals—Rajesh Kumar, Bharat Kumar, and Rohit Kumar—threatened her.

The victim then approached the Kotwali police station, but after receiving no assistance, she went to the SP’s office. Failing to find justice there, she appealed to the Inspector General of Police. Following this, orders were issued, leading to the registration of the case. Inspector Mahendra Singh of the Bidhuna Kotwali stated that the case has been filed based on higher authorities’ instructions, and an investigation is underway.
