Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday ordered the removal of Sidhi Collector Swarochit Somvanshi and Guna Superintendent of Police Ankit Soni, and also suspended the general manager of the district cooperative bank. He paid a surprise inspection in Sidhi district and received several complaints against the officials.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Sidhi district on Sunday and interacted directly with local citizens to assess the administrative system and the ground-level implementation of government schemes. He reviewed complaints raised by citizens and public representatives on various issues and sought detailed feedback on the functioning of the district administration and different departments during the public interaction.

Yadav directed that the Sidhi Collector be removed with immediate effect, while the cooperative bank’s general manager, P S Dhanwal, was placed under suspension.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed the removal of Guna Superintendent of Police Shri Ankit Soni from his post, considering his role inappropriate in connection with the alleged irregularities involving cash recovered during a search operation in Guna district.

In the Guna case, four police personnel, including a station house officer (SHO), were suspended after a preliminary departmental inquiry found their role in the seizure of a reported Rs 1 crore hawala money, of which Rs 20 lakh was allegedly kept by the cops as bribe to release the remaining amount and allowing a businessman who carried the money to leave for Gujarat.

He emphasized that public welfare is the top priority of the state government. Camps are being organized across urban and rural areas as part of a campaign to address the problems of citizens. He further stated that he wanted to send a clear message to officers and employees that if they are unable to resolve public grievances while working in the field, they have no right to hold field postings.
