A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh where a private bank employee was arrested by Gonda police for the murder of a woman who was the daughter-in-law of a former MLA. The woman, a resident of Balrampur, had gone missing on April 1. She was married and a mother of three children. Her husband filed a missing person report the next day, following which police launched an intensive investigation. They checked CCTV footage, conducted local inquiries, and used social media to trace her whereabouts. On April 4, the body of a woman was found near a drain in Gonda district, and the deceased was later identified by her husband.
During the investigation, the police examined CCTV footage and found a suspect who was later identified as an officer at a bank in Balrampur. The details of bank employee are not being revealed due to privacy concerns. The accused was known to the woman through family ties. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime and revealed that he had been in a relationship with the woman in the past. However, over time, she began to distance herself from him, and he believed she had started seeing someone else. Hurt and emotionally disturbed by this, he decided to take revenge.
On the day of the incident, the accused called the woman on the pretext of meeting and took her in a car through three districts — Shrawasti, Bahraich, and finally to Gonda. There, he strangled her using a dupatta and disposed of her body near a drain before fleeing the scene. The police have recovered crucial evidence, including the vehicle used in the crime, the victim’s mobile phone, and the dupatta used in the murder. The accused has been arrested, confessed to the crime, and has been booked for murder and destruction of evidence. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure justice is served.
