In a shocking incident, a woman working in a bank in Anupgarh, Rajasthan, tried to take her own life due to alleged mental harassment at her workplace. The incident happened on Saturday evening at a bank branch located near the Shri Ganesh Temple. The name of Bank has not been revealed due to privacy concerns.
Woman Accuses Branch Manager of Mental Harassment
The woman is employed in the gold loan section of the bank and has been working there for the past six months. She claimed that despite meeting her work targets regularly, she has been mentally harassed by the branch manager for the last two months. According to her, the harassment has become unbearable, and it pushed her to take the extreme step.
Senior Officer Also Accused of Misbehaviour
The woman also stated that a senior officer from the Ganganagar staff has been troubling her on the instructions of the branch manager. She alleged that the officer made inappropriate comments about her clothing and added to her mental stress.
Attempted Suicide Inside Bank Premises
On Saturday evening, the woman reportedly used a cutter to injure both her hands inside the bank. After the incident, she created a commotion by throwing objects around and shouting outside the bank. Hearing the noise, people nearby gathered at the spot.
Family and Police Reached the Spot
Soon after, the woman’s family was informed, and they rushed to the bank to calm her down. The police also arrived and took control of the situation. The branch manager was taken to the police station for questioning.
Woman Taken to Hospital, Investigation Underway
The injured woman was taken to the hospital where she was given immediate medical treatment. Later, police officials, including Station House Officer (SHO) Ishwar Prasad Jangid and members of the Kalika police unit, questioned the woman and her family.
SHO Jangid confirmed that the case is being investigated thoroughly. The woman has been advised to take rest and recover from the trauma. Authorities have assured that if a formal complaint is filed, action will be taken in a fair and unbiased manner.
