Dinesh Bahadur Singh, a 56-year-old bank cashier from Kanpur, tragically lost his life after being hit by a train near the COD crossing. He lived in the area under the Chakeri police station. The news has deeply saddened his family, especially his wife and two daughters, who are struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.
Who Was Dinesh Bahadur Singh?
Dinesh worked at the Barra branch of the State Bank of India. He lived with his wife, Rita Singh, and their two daughters, Preeti and Pooja. All three women work privately. Dinesh was known as a dedicated employee and a caring family man.

What Happened on the Day of the Accident?
On Thursday, Dinesh left the bank at 2 PM as usual. He did not take his mobile phone or bag with him; both were left back at the office. After leaving, no one knew where he went or what he was doing. When evening came and Dinesh had still not returned home, his family became worried and began searching for him.
At around 3 PM, Dinesh was hit by a train near the COD crossing. He sustained serious injuries. The police were quickly informed and rushed him to Kashiram Hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Family’s Search and Confirmation
Throughout the night, Dinesh’s family had no information about his whereabouts. They visited Kashiram Hospital, showing the staff a photo of Dinesh in hopes of finding him. The hospital staff informed them that a body had been sent for postmortem.
Later, at the postmortem house, Rita Singh and her daughters identified Dinesh’s body. The loss left them heartbroken and inconsolable.
The family is still trying to understand how Dinesh ended up at the COD crossing and what he was doing there. No one knows why he went to that location, and they are left with many unanswered questions.
