Jharkhand: A serious case involving the rape of a minor tribal girl has emerged in the Gumla district. The accused is Rajkumar Singh, who works as a cashier at the Bank of India’s Bishunpur branch. The victim, a 12th-grade student, had been working as a cook in his home.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred on April 18, when it is alleged that Rajkumar Singh forcibly took the girl to his bedroom and assaulted her. He reportedly threatened her life if she told anyone about the incident.
After the incident, the young girl returned home and told her mother about the incident. Initially, the family chose to remain silent due to the fear of public shame and stigma associated with such incidents. Police Action
The victim’s family filed a complaint at the Bishunpur police station, leading to a case being registered against Rajkumar Singh. In response to the complaint, the police took immediate action. They arranged for the victim to undergo a medical examination in Gumla and recorded her statement under section 164 of the law, which ensures that her testimony is properly documented.The police are actively pursuing the case and conducting raids to apprehend the accused, Rajkumar Singh.
