Around 1.5 Lac Women Join LIC as Bima Sakhi, Know Benefits and Earn Money

Around 1.5 Lac Women have joined LIC as Bima Sakhi. As on 31st March, 2025, the total number of women enrolled as Bima Sakhi is 1,48,888. Out of this, nearly 15% i.e. 13,528 and 8,964 pertain to the state of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh respectively.

Women are becoming financially independent with the help of this scheme and are getting a chance to prove themselves. Bima Sakhi- “Mahila Career Agents (MCA) Scheme” was launched by LIC on 9th December, 2024. The scheme aims to provide employment opportunities & financial independence to women.

Women who join Bima Sakhi agents go through LIC insurance Training within 3 months of their appointment as per the provisions of the scheme.

As on, 31st, March, 2025, 60.13% of total premium collected by Bima Sakhis, is from rural areas. Further, at present nearly 25 percent of the panchayats have minimum one Bima Sakhi agent, indicating their outreach in rural areas.

LIC’s Bima Sakhi (MCA Scheme) is a Stipendiary Scheme, exclusively for Women , with a stipendiary period of 3 years. To join as Bima Sakhi, Minimum age should be 18 years as on date of application and Maximum age limit is 70 years. Minimum required qualification is – pass in 10th standard.

First Year Commission (excluding Bonus Commission)

The Stipend payable :

Stipendiary Year	Stipend payable per month
First Year	Rs.7,000/-
Second Year	Rs.6,000/- (subject to at least 65% of Policies completed in the First stipendiary year are in-force as at the end of the corresponding month of the second stipendiary year)
Third Year	Rs.5,000/- (subject to at least 65% of Policies completed in the Second stipendiary year are in-force as at the end of the corresponding month of the third stipendiary year )

Documents required to become Bima Sakhi:

1. Self-attested copy of Age proof
2. Self-attested copy of Address proof
3. Self-attested copy of certificate of Educational Qualification
