The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed all agency banks to remain open on March 31, 2025 (Monday), despite it being a public holiday. This decision has been taken to facilitate government-related financial transactions for the Financial Year 2024-25.
In an official circular (RBI/2024-25/112), the RBI stated that the Government of India has requested banks handling government receipts and payments to keep their branches operational on this day. This move ensures the smooth processing of transactions related to government accounts before the financial year closes.
The RBI has also urged banks to widely publicize the availability of banking services on March 31, 2025, to inform customers and stakeholders. For further details, banks and customers can visit the official RBI website: www.rbi.org.in.
