In one of the largest healthcare deals in India, Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Ltd. (QCIL) have signed definitive agreements to merge, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals. The new entity, Aster DM Quality Care Limited, will bring together four renowned hospital brands: Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare. Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized the strategic importance of the merger and its potential to reshape India’s healthcare landscape.

Backed by global investors Blackstone and TPG, the merged entity will create a formidable network of 38 hospitals with over 10,150 beds spanning 27 cities. With plans to add 3,500 new beds by 2027, the merger aims to position the new entity among the top hospital chains in India. The deal values Aster DM Healthcare at 36.6 times its projected FY24 earnings, while QCIL is valued at 25.2 times. The combined enterprise value of the merger is estimated at ₹43,000 crore.

Aster Medcity Launches Cutting-Edge CAR-T Therapy for Blood Cancer

In another milestone for Aster DM Healthcare, Aster Medcity has launched its CAR-T cell therapy program, a groundbreaking treatment for blood cancer patients. The program was inaugurated by Governor C.V. Ananda Bose in the presence of prominent leaders, including Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden, Aster DM’s non-executive director Anoop Moopen, COO S. Ramesh Kumar, and senior medical professionals.
