An air hostess has accused a hospital staff member of sexually assaulting her while she was on a ventilator in the ICU at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. According to reports, two nurses were present in the room during the incident but did not intervene to stop it.

The air hostess had come to Gurgaon for a workshop and became ill after swimming in her hotel’s pool. On March 31, she arrived in the city to attend a training session organized by an airline operator in Darbaripur, Sector 75. Her health condition worsened, and by April 5, she was admitted to Medanta Hospital. She was later discharged, but on April 6, while in a critical state on a ventilator, she alleges that a hospital staff member sexually assaulted her.

The woman filed a police complaint on April 13, after she told her husband about the assault. The complaint was lodged at the Sadar police station, and a case of molestation was registered under the Indian Penal Code.

In response to the allegations, the hospital issued a statement saying, “We have been made aware of a complaint from a patient and are fully cooperating with the authorities conducting the investigation. At this point, no allegations have been proven, and we have provided all relevant documents, including CCTV footage, to the police.”

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Gaurav, stated that a special investigation team, led by Sadar ACP Yashwant, has been formed due to the serious nature of the allegations. “The team has reviewed the CCTV footage from the hospital and is questioning staff members who may have interacted with the patient during her stay,” he said.
