Shri Dilip Saha, General Secretary of the All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Association (AIPNBOA), addressed PNB officers on March 24, 2025, following widespread confusion and unrest after the strike was withdrawn. The strike was initially planned for March 28 and 29, 2025, in protest against PNB’s new transfer policy, which required officers to serve 3 years in a branch, 6 years in a circle, and 9 years in a zone. Officers across India strongly opposed this policy and demanded its cancellation.

In response to employee concerns, AIPNBOA announced a strike but later withdrew it on March 20, 2025, after accepting a modified transfer policy from the bank. As per the revised policy, officers will now serve 3 years in a branch and 7 years in a circle, while the zone-wise tenure rule has been removed. However, many officers are still unhappy as they had demanded a complete rollback of the transfer policy.

Amid the growing dissatisfaction, Shri Dilip Saha released a video on YouTube, explaining the reasons behind his decision to accept the revised policy and withdraw the strike. His statement has received mixed reactions, with some officers welcoming the change while others continue to demand a complete cancellation of the new transfer policy.

In the video, he said that there are a lot of deficit circles in Punjab National Bank such as Murshidabad, Nadia (West Bengal) and some circles are in High Demand. This policy will address this issue and officers who are stuck in one place will get a chance of relocation. What you think about this, let us know in the comment section below.

  1. How come it will help employees already working in a different zone wants to come back to parent circle???

  2. Officers who have sacrificed promotions for home posting deserve recognition. Before transferring them to another circle, let’s offer a promotion for their dedication and hard work.
    Suddenly how transfer policy implemented.

  3. Sir, repatriation method is very good but sir existing policy was better than new policy.AIPNBOA called for strike 28th and 29 March and all the comreds genuinely waiting for strike but unfortunately you accept the new transfer policy without inform the members this is unfortunate.this policy is very good for Mumbai, kolkatta and Delhi employee but sir what about small circle sir like Nagpur.i think senior comred who aged 54 years are happy with this but young comreds are unhappy.

  4. The updated policy will not help employees and bank. Dirst you should understand that employees are human beings and they have families. If people can work in thier home circle they can woek with a peace full mind.and very well. This policy is a punishment.
