The lifeless body of Kapil Kumar, a 35-year-old field officer at a private bank in Rajabpur, was discovered hanging from a tree in a field near Venkateshwara University on Monday morning. The police swiftly arrived at the scene and commenced their investigation, while Kapil’s family members also hurried to the grim location. The grieving family has leveled allegations of exploitation against the officials at the bank.
Originally hailing from Mehmmadi village in the Mandi Dhanaura police station area, Kapil Kumar had tied the knot with Ritu, a resident of Kuchawali village in Moradabad district, five years prior. Currently, Kapil resided in his in-laws’ house with his wife Ritu and their young son, Abhinav.
According to the distraught family members, Kapil held the position of a field officer at a private bank in Gajraula. However, he had been enduring mental distress due to alleged exploitation by the bank officials. This turmoil had driven him to seek medical treatment for a period of 15 days, all while actively searching for alternative employment opportunities.
On Sunday, Kapil bid farewell to his family, stating that he was heading to Agra. At approximately 10:30 pm, he engaged in a phone conversation with his wife, Ritu, during which he mentioned his plans for the trip. Tragically, the following morning brought the devastating discovery of Kapil’s lifeless body hanging from a tree in the field adjacent to Venkateshwara University, secured by a rope.
News of the incident quickly spread among the nearby individuals who had gathered to begin their day’s work in the fields. Rajabpur police promptly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. Kapil’s wife and other grieving family members also arrived, their anguish intensified by the shocking turn of events.
During this heart-wrenching ordeal, Kapil Kumar’s family firmly accused the bank officials of exploiting him, making their grievances known. Presently, the authorities are treating the case as a suspected suicide. City CO Arun Kumar assured that a comprehensive investigation is underway, with the subsequent course of action dependent on the results of the post-mortem examination and the formal complaint lodged by the family.
