Bank Salary: Indian Bank Association (IBA) and bank employee unions have reached an agreement on the 12th bipartite wage hike settlement, which will be effective for the next five years starting from November 1, 2022. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), bank employees will receive a 17 percent salary increase.

The MOU outlines that the new pay scales will be determined by merging the Dearness Allowance corresponding to 8088 points (the average Index point applicable for the quarter of July, August, and September 2021) with the basic pay as of October 31, 2022. Additionally, a 3 percent loading will be added, totaling Rs 1795 crore.

The 12th BPS (Bipartite Settlement) wage revision will be effective from 1.11.2022 for a period of five years. Annual increase in salary and allowances is agreed at 17 %, of the annual pay slip expenses for FY 2021-22, which works out to Rs. 12,449 crores for all public sector banks including SBI.

  1. Worst settlement so far for the award staff, the time has come that we no longer have to remain members of any union, we will have to decide our own path because looking at the duty sheet of the bank, it seems that it is very difficult to work now in this scenario.
