US President Donald Trump has spoken out on the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area. While flying to Rome aboard Air Force One, Trump called the April 22 incident a “bad one” and acknowledged the long-standing tension between India and Pakistan. He added that he is hopeful both countries will find a solution to their issues.
“There has been tension on that border for 1,500 years. It’s been the same, but I’m sure they’ll figure it out one way or the other,” Trump told reporters, as quoted by ANI.
“I’m very close to India, and I’m very close to Pakistan,” he said.

As per this report, it appears that US will not intervene in this issue. Earlier, US used to try to intervene in the issues between India and Pakistan but this time, as per the reports, US will not intervene. This means that India will not have international pressure against taking action on Terrorists. PM Modi has also made it clear that the terrorists will not be spared. U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Friday (April 25, 2025) said America stands with India as it hunts down those responsible for the heinous Pahalgam attack.
Several world leaders have spoken with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show their support after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. They all strongly condemned the attack and offered their condolences.
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to PM Modi over the phone. He expressed deep sorrow for the victims and said he stands with the people of India. During the conversation, PM Modi explained how cruel and inhuman the attack was. He also said that India is fully determined to punish those responsible and their supporters.
- Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba also spoke to PM Modi. He expressed his sadness over the loss of lives. He clearly said that terrorism can never be justified. Both leaders agreed that terrorism is a serious threat to all humanity, and all countries that believe in democracy must unite to fight it. PM Modi shared details of the cross-border terror attack and said India will respond strongly and firmly.
- French President Emmanuel Macron called PM Modi to offer his condolences for the innocent people killed in the attack. He strongly condemned the violence and said such barbaric acts are completely unacceptable. He assured full support and solidarity with India. PM Modi thanked him and promised that India will make sure the attackers are brought to justice.
- Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also condemned the attack very strongly. She sent her prayers for the victims and wished those who were injured a quick recovery. She said Italy fully supports India’s fight against terrorism. PM Modi thanked her for her clear and strong message and said both India and Italy will continue working together at global platforms to strengthen efforts against terrorism.
- King Abdullah II of Jordan also sent his condolences. He said the killing of innocent people is wrong and that terrorism must be rejected in every form. PM Modi thanked the King for his message of support and solidarity.

26 Killed in Pahalgam Terror Attack
The Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people—mostly tourists—is one of the worst in Jammu and Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama blast. The assault triggered nationwide outrage in India and sharp criticism of Pakistan’s role in cross-border terrorism.
India Responds with Strong Measures
Following the attack, the Indian government took several strict actions against Pakistan:
- Suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty
- Expulsion of Pakistani military attaches
- Closure of the Attari land transit post
- Cancellation of visas issued to Pakistani citizens (effective from April 27)
- Advisory issued to Indians living in Pakistan to return home
Pakistan Retaliates with Trade and Airspace Restrictions
In response, Pakistan shut down its airspace to Indian airlines and suspended all trade relations with India, including trade through third-party countries. Pakistan also rejected India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling any attempt to block water flow an “act of war”.
PM Modi: Will Hunt Down Every Terrorist
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation’s anger by promising strict action against those responsible.
“We will go to the ends of the earth to track down the killers of Pahalgam. Every terrorist and their backers will be identified, tracked, and punished,” he said.
The situation remains tense, with international observers closely watching the actions of both countries in the coming days.
