What Eyewitness Told About attack on IRS Gaurav Garg? Read Here

In Lucknow, an IRS Officer has been attacked by another Senior IRS Officer Yogendra Mishra in the Income Tax Office. He was attacked brutally and was taken to hospital by colleagues. In the FIR, Gaurav Garg said that Joint Commissioner Yogendra Mishra suddenly entered the office and attacked him. An eyewitness has narrated what he saw and heard during the incident. According to eyewitnesses, Yogendra Mishra went to meet Gaurav Garg on Thursday afternoon. During the conversation, the dispute suddenly escalated. Mishra got angry and picked up a glass paper weight lying nearby and threw it on Garg’s face. As soon as he got hurt, blood started flowing. Garg was immediately admitted to the civil hospital.

Three other employees were also present in the office at the time of the attack. They said–

• The peon said- Loud arguments were coming from the room. It seemed like a big fight was going on. Soon Garg sir’s voice was heard shouting. When he came out, blood was flowing from his face.
• An officer, on the condition of anonymity, said that there was tension between the two officers for a long time. The matter was not just personal, but its roots were related to departmental action.

As per sources, there was hostility between the two officers. It’s said that IRS officer Gaurav Garg had recently formally signed complaints related to indiscipline and corruption against Yogendra Mishra.

Not only this, Mishra had asked Gaurav for sensitive information related to a third party, but Garg refused to give the information citing rules. After this, Mishra was pressurizing him, but Garg did not compromise with the rules. This attack could have been done in the spirit of revenge.

Department officials maintained silence after this attack. After this attack, the officers and employees of the Income Tax Department are shocked. Although no official statement has come from the department so far, but according to sources, a high-level investigation has been started into the entire matter.
