‘Tumhare Pas Dimag Nahi Hai’, Indian Overseas Bank Officer issued Letter for misbehaving with GM

Recently, two letters of Indian Overseas Bank have gone viral on social media. The 1st explanation letter has been issued to an officer of Indian Overseas Bank in Bhopal Region and 2nd letter has been issued to an Assistant Manager of Ernakulam Region.

As per the letter a review meeting was held in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) Region. In the meeting, the office misbehaved with senior authorities – General Manager and Chief Manager. The Officer said to GM – ‘Tumhare pas dimag nahi hai’. The matter quickly escalated and explanation letter was issued to officer.

We refer to our Branch email dated 25.07.2025 wherein Branch has reported that you had misbehaved with General Manager Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh Sir and Chief Manager Shri Arteshwaram Sir during the review meeting of officers held at Branch today i.e. 25.07.2025.

It has been reported that you used threatening and used filthy language (such as you told to GM Sir “Tumhare paas dimag nahi hai”)

Your above action is not appreciated. You have indulged in an unparliamentary language demonstrating a lack of professionalism which is unbecoming of an officer employee. Your behaviour is not in alignment with the corporate expectation and Bank’s code of conduct.

In view of the above, we call for your explanation within 04 days of receipt of this letter failing which we may conclude that you do not have anything to submit, and suitable disciplinary action as deemed fit will be initiated against you.

Staff in Ernakulam issued Explanation Letter

One more case of misbehaviour and issuance of explanation call has been reported at Indian Overseas Bank. This time the incident took place at Ernakulam under Chennai region. A review meeting of Assistant Managers was held and the employee misbehaved with Chief Regional Manager in the meeting.

During the review meeting of IInd line Managers conducted through Webex on 07.09.2024 by RO Enakulam to monitor the position of SB/CD account opening in the Region and the action plan of the branch to compensate the gap, you had attended the review meeting unprepared and did not submit any action plan in as much as you had indulged in acts of insubordination.

During the Review Meeting, you argued with the Chief Regional Manager in the presence of Regional Office Officials and lInd Line Managers and behaved in indisciplined manner.

Having regard to Statement of Allegations, it is charged that
1) You had acted in a manner unbecoming of an officer employee by not discharging your duties properly and committed acts which tantamounts to insubordination.
2) You had failed to discharge your duties with utmost integrity and honesty.
3) You had failed to maintain good conduct and discipline by arguing with your higher official during the Review meeting.
