Banks have to spend a lot of money in maintaining ATMs. So, the banks in Japan have found a new solution to it.
MUFG Bank Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., and Mizuho Bank Ltd., which are the three largest banking groups in Japan, are working together to manage their automated teller machines (ATMs). According to people familiar with the discussions, the banks are exploring the idea of running ATMs jointly to save money.
These banks are currently discussing about how they can share responsibilities for important tasks related to ATMs. These tasks include monitoring the machines, ensuring security, and transporting cash safely. By combining their efforts, the banks hope to lower the overall costs involved in running ATMs.
Banks have not yet confirmed this new working. But as per sources, talks are going on. More details will be released soon.
