In Lucknow, an IRS Officer Gaurav Garg has been physically assaulted by another Senior IRS Officer Yogendra Mishra in the Income Tax Office. He was attacked brutally and was taken to hospital by colleagues.

In the FIR, Gaurav Garg said that Joint Commissioner Yogendra Mishra suddenly entered the office and attacked him. IRS Gaurav Garg has filed FIR and given his statement [Read FIR Copy Here]. Now Yogendra Mishra has also given his statement on X (Formerly Twitter). Read what he said below.

I am forced to speak publicly about extreme harassment, character assassination and false police complaints. In 2022, I replaced Gaurav Garg in Kanpur. I had reported lapses in tax investigations during his tenure. This made him hostile towards me. Now my character is being assassinated through the police and the media.

A minor dispute in a departmental cricket match on 13th February 2025 was resolved amicably. Months later a video of this resolved matter was leaked by Gaurav Garg through his IPS wife to malign my image.

On 29 March 2025 this old video was circulated by a journalist on X. Demanded ₹50,000. I have submitted the evidence of blackmail to the authorities. On 30 March 2025 I was suddenly transferred from Lucknow to Kashipur on the basis of this fabricated video. The transfer order was circulated in the media even before it was officially issued to me.

I filed an RTI on 28 April 2025 to know the official basis of my transfer. Gaurav Garg did not respond. On 29 May 2025, I approached the CIT (Admin) to get information in this regard. Gaurav Garg abused and assaulted me in front of senior officers in the CIT (Admin) office. The entire incident was captured on CCTV and many senior officers also saw it. Despite this, I am being called the attacker.

I have complained to the Lucknow Police Commissioner. I have given CCTV footage, witness statements and recordings as evidence. The case should be investigated impartially before taking action on the report filed against me. I am being targeted for exposing wrongdoings.
